SCSI Announces jBIAS
A JAVA based product for all environments!

jBIAS is a select subset of the standard BIAS functionality implemented within a pure J2EE environment.  For all of us who aren't into all the technical jargon, that means BIAS is being written entirely in JAVA and implemented using XML (Extensible Markup Language) for all its external interfaces and IP (Internet Protocol) for its communication interfaces with the information vendors.

Our initial release of jBIAS will include the reports from ChoicePoint.  More detail is included in this edition of bits 'n' bytes which is accessible by clicking   . . .  HERE.

Attention TransUnion Subscribers!

TransUnion in that, as of January 1, 2003, they will no longer support Version 3.  Subscribers must upgrade to Version 4.

BIAS supports Version 4 beginning with Release 9.3. If you have an earlier release of BIAS and you plan to continue with TransUnion, contact us immediately about upgrading.

BIAS bits 'n' byes In November 2001, SCSI mailed the inaugural issue of their new semi-annual newsletter:  BIAS bits 'n' bytes. Geared to BIAS customers, both current and prospective, the newsletter includes sections on New Releases, Upcoming Attractions, and Special Notices.

BIAS Releases 10.0 & 10.1:
Additional Functionality
Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) International Reports
BIAS now has the functionality required to access text credit information on international businesses using D&B's Inter-Regional Gateway service. This capability for interactive retrieval and inquiry of international reports from D&B is available in BIAS release 10.0. The new BIAS modules support retrieval of the full range of international data through D&B.

Omni-Source Trade Data
Also available in BIAS release 10.0, Omni-Source Trade Data allows BIAS users to import trade data (payment history) from other internal or external systems. This flexible BIAS functionality allows BIAS to maintain an extensive list of primary contributors (trade groups) and to track individual accounts within each trade group. All of the data in the Omni-Source Trade Data files is available for use in BIAS Application Processing and scoring in Portfolio Management.

ChoicePoint Solutions at Quote
This new product from ChoicePoint is available in BIAS release 10.1. Solutions at Quote is, in ChoicePoint's words,

". . . an interactive, single-inquiry tool which delivers comprehensive, nationwide data on drivers and vehicles associated with a specific address, expediting the quote process by allowing for quick and efficient verification rather than the time-consuming collection of this data."

This new product enables our users to pre-fill automobile insurance applications and relieves the applicant of this data entry effort.
